We’d love to show you around, plus it’s a great excuse for a mini island escape!
We’ll run you through the options available for your special day, take you for a tour of your preferred ceremony locations and reception venues and give you a greater understanding of why so many couples choose to host their wedding on Hamilton Island.
Once you’ve viewed all the information below, please complete the Famil Booking form at the bottom of the page. Someone from our team will then be in contact with you within 48 hours to confirm your famil booking, or discuss an alternate date and time if your preferred date and time are unavailable.
Please note, we can offer famil visits on weekdays and we strongly recommend that you do not make any travel plans until your famil date and time have been confirmed in writing. It is not always possible to fit a famil in on certain days where we have weddings or meeting commitments already booked.

Ceremony locations and reception venues
Please advise your preferred locations and venues when booking so that we can check availability on your behalf.
Please note that availability of locations and venues is subject to maintenance and other bookings. No venues are held exclusively for famil inspections and any availability advised is subject to change, even at the last minute.
Accommodation
Hamilton Island Weddings are able to assist with accommodation viewings at various Hamilton Island hotel and holiday home accommodation. Due to changing availabilities, this can only be arranged once on island, and is subject to availabilities at the time. Some places of accommodation may not be available to view due to high occupancy.

Private house
If you wish to view a particular private home during your visit, please advise us and we will try and assist with arranging this. Please note however that due to Hamilton Island’s high occupancy, this can sometimes be a difficult request to fulfil.
Golf Club ceremony and/or reception
If you wish to view the Golf Club during your visit, please note the following;
– The Heli pad ceremony location has a strict maximum of 80 guests
–Â The Clubhouse reception venue has a strict maximum of 80 guests
–Â A beautiful way to experience the Golf Club during your visit is their lunch special including a 2 course lunch, ferry transfers and an optional tour of the golf course (holes 10-18 only)
Please note if you would like to tour the golf course we recommend booking a lunch at The Clubhouse. We are unable to offer a venue tour as it is on a separate island. Upon booking, we can advise the manager and organise for a venue tour.
Reception venue menu tasting
If you’re considering a restaurant as your reception venue, the best way to experience the food and service from that venue is by booking a lunch or dinner during your stay. We are happy to request this booking on your behalf.
Please note that menu tastings are not available for our Events and Yacht Club venues.
As a general rule, it’s not likely that you’ll be able to taste specific options you may be considering for your reception. Tastings should be considered as a way of confirming/tasting the overall quality of the food and presentation supplied by that particular venue, and not for tasting individual dishes.
Restaurant bookings must be booked in advance, are subject to availability, and standard restaurant pricing and fees apply.
Who would you like to meet?
Please note that all requests are subject to availability and no guarantees can be made that the individuals you meet with during your famil will be the people undertaking your services leading up to and on your wedding day.
Please be advised, famil availability is very limited during Peak Wedding Season (April-May, August – October) suppliers are unable to meet during these times but our sales executive may be able to show you to the different venues.Â
Photo and video
You will have the opportunity for a meeting at our office with a representative from Hamilton Island Wedding’s Photo and Video Department.
Island Hair and Beauty
Island Hair and Beauty are happy to provide a 15 minute pre-consultation at no charge. If you wish to conduct a full trial, pricing is as per the wedding services menu.
Floral Collections
Floral Collections is located on Hamilton Island and are usually available for a pre-arranged meeting at their shop on Front Street. We can arrange this appointment on your behalf, or if you’re already in contact with them you’re welcome to arrange this directly.
Cake suppliers
Cake tastings require 3-4 weeks notice. We will ask you for your preferred cake flavours at the time of booking however these are preferences only and the actual supplied flavours will be subject to availability.

AVPartners (styling)
AV Partners are located on the island and are usually available for a pre-arranged meeting at our office boardrooms or can meet you at your chosen venue. We can arrange this appointment on your behalf.
Officiators
The majority of our officiators are based on the mainland and travel to Hamilton Island frequently by ferry. In the case that your famil visit coincides with your desired officiator being on-island, they may be available to meet with you.
If your visit does not coincide with the officiator/s being on-island, we can request their availability to come to Hamilton Island to meet with you. In this case travel fees will be charged and vary depending on the officiator.
Alternatively, you may choose to travel by ferry to Airlie Beach to meet with your desired officiator/s. Return ferry transfers are approximately $120 per person, and you would need to allow at least 2.5 hours in travel time plus time for your meeting. Click here for current ferry times with Cruise Whitsundays.
